Who you'd be working with

You'll talk to me. There is nobody else here.

I'm Chris Taylor. I run Danny's Automotive here in Midland. I built it the same way I'll work on yours. Measure everything, then argue with the numbers until they say something useful.

I'm not a broker, an accountant, a lawyer or a financial advisor. I don't want to be any of them. What I do is take a business apart on paper. I find where the money goes and where your time goes. Then we put it back together so it runs without you standing in the middle of it.

I take eight clients. That's a hard cap, not a marketing number — it's what one person does properly while running another company. When the seats are full there's a list, and I'll tell you where you are on it.

Why I don't take a commission

Every broker and most advisors here get paid when a deal closes. That's not evil. But it means an owner who isn't ready to sell is worth nothing to them. That's most owners. It's also most of the ones who need the work.

I charge a flat fee and I never take a commission, a success fee, or a finder's fee on anything. Not from you, and not from anybody I send you to. Whether you sell is your call. I get paid the same either way, which is the only reason you should believe a word I say about it.

What I'm actually good at

Analysis. Hand me a business and I want every number that matters. Then I want to know what each one should be. That's the part I'm unusually good at. It's also the part almost nobody does, because it's slow, it's dull, and it doesn't sell as well as confidence.

The rest of it is judgment. What to fix first. When to tell you the second-in-command you're proud of isn't ready yet. That part comes from making most of these mistakes in my own shop first.

Thirty minutes, no charge, and I'll tell you on the call if I don't think I can help.
