Short version: I collect almost nothing, I don't sell anything, and I don't run advertising trackers. The longer version is below and it is written to be followed, not to be impressive.

Draft, pending attorney review

This page is written and in force as of launch, but it has not yet been reviewed by a Texas attorney. That review is scheduled. If anything here conflicts with your signed agreement, the agreement governs.

What the site collects

What I don't do

Who else touches it

A handful of ordinary business services, described by what they do rather than by brand name, because the brands change: website hosting, email, calendar scheduling, encrypted file backup, a password manager, and accounting software. Each is bound by its own agreement. None of them get your information for their own marketing.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don't become work: about a year, then deleted. Client records follow the retention schedule in your agreement — source documents you gave me are returned or destroyed shortly after the engagement ends, and my own work product is kept for seven years because that's what a professional file requires.

Asking me to delete something

Texas law doesn't require me to give you a formal deletion or access right, and I'm not going to pretend it does. What I will do is honour the request anyway as a courtesy, unless I have to keep something for tax, insurance or legal reasons. Email or call and say what you want gone.

The reason for that careful wording: in Texas the real risk isn't failing to offer rights I don't owe — it's promising something on a page like this and then not doing it. So this page only promises what I actually do.

Security

Two-factor authentication on everything, a password manager, encrypted backups with retention deliberately kept short, and a written security policy I follow. No system is perfect. If there is ever a breach affecting your information, I will tell you, and Texas law requires the notice to include my street address for a full year afterwards, which is a decent incentive to not have one.

Children

This is a business-to-business practice. The site isn't for anyone under 18 and I don't knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this page changes materially I'll date it and, if you're a client, tell you directly.

Questions about any of this go to me, not to a department.
